Program Overview

The Memphis Jazz Workshop is an exciting new opportunity for elementary students in grades 2-5 to learn an instrument and discover the joy of jazz music. Our program is designed to give young musicians a strong foundation before they enter middle and high school music programs.

 Who Can Join?

Students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 who are eager to learn music and explore jazz!

 What You’ll Need

Students provide their own instruments. Need help with rentals? We’ve got you covered!

Why Start Early?

Learning an instrument in elementary school gives students a tremendous advantage when they join middle and high school music programs. Our jazz workshop provides:

  • Early exposure to music theory and performance
  • Development of listening skills and musical ear
  • Confidence building through group performance
  • Introduction to America’s original art form – jazz!
